The average annual final harvested area is around 1 250ha and selective and incremental thinning are carried out on approximately 700-800ha and 30ha, respectively. 500-600ha of sanitary felling is done on an annual basis to help avoid disease and decay that would result from natural destruction, such as snow damage, wind damage, fire and fungal decay in conifer stands.
Our average annual total cutting is around 180-200 thousand net m3, sold to Hungarian and foreign customers or used in our own wood processing plants. The total potential cutting can not be increased in the forest areas managed by KEFAG Zrt and the species composition and variety are also stable. The production of conifer and poplar pulpwood, as well as the raw materials to be processed by our plants and those of our affiliate, is considered to be part of our long term strategic plan. |
